Stability of polymer
emulsions - Samples are tested over time to determine if they are
stable or unstable. If they are unstable, the reason for the
instability can be determined, i.e. sedimentation, creaming,
particle size increase, particle size increase then sedimentation,
etc. In addition, stability parameters can be calculated such
as sedimentation rate, mean particle size, rate of change in mean
size, etc.

On-Line |
Continuous monitoring of
polymerization processes - The Turbiscan On-Line system is ideal for
determining the endpoint of a mixing process or for monitoring a
continuous process for changes or upsets. The system measures mean
particle size on concentrated samples by multiple light
scattering. A measurement is made every 0.1 seconds in a flow
through cell. No sample preparation is required. Results are
displayed on user programmable trend lines.

Sieve size and shape
analysis of polymer pellets by video image
analysis. No weight is required and analysis time is five

Process Analyzer |
Continuous monitoring of
sieve
size gradations automatically in the plant. Pipe or belt
samplers are used to take representative samples from dry processes
approximately every five minutes. The samples are tested for size
and shape and then returned to the process. Test results are
displayed in control rooms and via plant networks.
